Amelia Roberts is a native of Chattanooga. She attended Hixson High School and then obtained her B.A. degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1999, where she attended as a Chapin-Thomas Scholar.
She has litigated numerous bankruptcy, injury, and civil rights matters, and focuses her practice in these areas.
She frequently represents debtors in consumer bankruptcy cases.
She has served as a special judge in the Hamilton County General Sessions Court.
She represented the families of the victims in cases involving the two largest settlements paid by the City of Chattanooga for civil rights violations.
She is also a successful appellate attorney, and won an important victory for injury victims in the Tennessee Supreme Court in a case against Wal-Mart.
She is a member of the Chattanooga Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association.
